WELCOME ONE DURHAM

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”
– President Barack Obama

My name is Farad Ali, and it is in this sentiment of President Barack Obama words that I rise, proud and humbled to seek to be your next Mayor.

I promise to continue the legacy of leadership of Mayor Bill Bell and propel a new movement and motto “One Durham” that further generates results–unity, action, and prosperity for all Durham citizens. I seek this office with great passion and optimism in a city where I have lived for 40 years, attended public schools, raised a family, excelled in business and represented the citizens of Durham as a public servant.

I bring the will, wisdom, and strength. I am standing on the shoulders of giants, the community at large, the many role models and heroes of the Durham community who have shaped and prepared me for this opportunity to serve. I ask you to join me on this journey and ask for your vote and your support. I ask you to join hands with me, walk with me, and stand strong with me as we launch an unprecedented new era to build the Bull City, the Peoples City, One Durham.
